This on-campus course was designed to evoke teenagers' awareness of how fast fashion and consumerism hugely impact the climate crisis. In order to change our buying habits and eliminate our footprint as a new generation—Gen-Z—students considered how we can reuse, recycle, upcycle, and recreate all that already exists?
Through the lens of fashion, learning the traditional life skills of sewing, dyeing, embroidery, and knitting, students altered, repaired, and recreated their own fashion of the era. The course ended with a fashion show on campus to display all of our students' hard work!
