Alumni Spotlight: Christina Douglas '03

Christina Douglas


Christina Douglas is a Ross School alum and citizen of the Shinnecock Nation. She graduated from Ross School in 2003 and has since made a name for herself in the film and media world. While a student at Ross, Christina utilized her passion and talent for storytelling and film to create a highly memorable senior thesis project. For her project, she co-directed a documentary about the lives of undocumented laborers on the Eastern End of Long Island.

Upon graduating from Ross, Christina pursued higher education at the esteemed Dartmouth College. She went on to pursue a career in television and worked as a development executive for the Discovery network for nearly a decade.

In 2021, Christina took home two Emmy Awards for her work on the Netflix docuseries Tiny Creatures. According to the Southampton Press, "The 8 piece Netflix documentary series, which first came out in the summer of 2020 and follows the lives of small animal 'protagonists' as they interact with each other and the environment, won two daytime Emmy’s [in 2021]: Outstanding Travel, Adventure and Nature Program; and Outstanding Cinematography."
